Located one hour from the imperial city of Cusco, in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we find Chaska Ocupi Forest Glamping, a magical place that will transport us to ancient times in the Andes, surrounded by nature among imposing mountains that seem to be sculpted by hand next to blue skies and cool glacial breezes.

Our camp is located in the town of Urubamba, at 2,870 m.a.s.l. This is a small town that despite the passage of the centuries, has retained the charm of yesteryear, still being a place where people from all the corners of the planet converge creating a unique cultural environment in the Peruvian Andes.

Chaska Ocupi gives us the experience of camping outdoors and enjoying different tourist attractions that the Sacred Valley offers us, such as, archaeological monuments, adventure sports, ecology, history, gastronomy, culture, art and beautiful Andean landscapes and also the opportunity to meet the nearby communities and incorporate them in our trip, and thus, build a unique story.

WHAT IS A GLAMPING?

The term glamping was coined in the late XIX century by British explorers such as Gordon Laing, Verney Cameron and David Livingstone, who opened the doors of tourism to the African continent.

Glamping is the conjunction of the words “camping” and “glamour”. However, the origins of glamping go back to kings and kingdoms centuries ago, where the need to travel arose either to visit regions under their domain, to conquer new lands or lead their war armies.

Around the year 200 B.C., the ottomans already used the tents for cultural ceremonies and the first transportable tents were built for the comfort of the sultan during his travels.

The king´s tent was fully transportable and carried on the back of pack animals to his next destination with all the comfort and attractions of the palace.

The silk tissues, the embroidery, the carpets and the valuable furniture are Ottoman´s contributions to the concept of glamping as we know it today.

Today, glamping is a variation of nature tourism that offers the travelers a direct contact with the environment, without refusing to the comfort and well-being of the best hotels.

OUR FACILITIES

At Chaska Ocupi, we take care of subtly combining the outdoor experience with the comforts of the most luxurious hotels.

Each tent has two single beds with fine bedding and warm alpaca covers, as well as heating in every room, which will give you a pleasant rest after the walks through the archaeological remains or the Andean landscapes.
The tents have private bathrooms, made of local wood with a very cozy rustic style, warm towels and equipped with hot and cold water showers 24 hours a day, as well as toiletries, finely selected and 100% friendly with the environment.
In the social areas, we have a large dining tent next to a lounge tent, where you can rest enjoying a typical drink such as Pisco Sour. In addition, we have barbecue grills and a campfire.
